Jewel Thief

automata

Jewellery box made from oak, beech and lime wood with brass fittings. Painted with acrylics with acrylic varnish.

When the drawer is opened the bird stretches forwards, opens its beak and lifts its wings in a very crow-like manner.

I started working on this piece because I had a nice block of oak sitting in my workshop. Our garden seems to be full of crows at the moment and the ideas just gelled together.

*Jewellery not included.
