Wren with internal egg

I designed this hardwood wren to use up some hardwood floor blocks that were removed from our house. It seemed a shame to just dump them. I have now come to the end of the 90 that I had. Each wren was made from one block with the addition of the egg and beak that are made from box wood. I now make them in exactly the same way but start with planks of sapele wood.
The wren is finished with several coats of acrylic varnish, the body having a flat finish whilst the painted eyes and beak are picked out with gloss.
I also supply a small beechwood mounting fixture so the wren can be mounted onto a twig for example if this is preferred to having it free standing.
The wren is approximately life sized.

The wren is available for free delivery worldwide in my SHOP
